Fantastic location (on the Kankakee River), perfectly set into the terrain, beautiful woodwork and art glass. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the house and history. Really appreciate the efforts of the Hall family with saving this treasure.

Revisited here when I found out it was open to public. Nice restoration of what was once a home then a fine dining restaurant. Most of the Wright touches are here, from Prairie lines to built-ins and stained glass. Worth a day trip from Chicago,...More

The home was beautiful! Our guide was very knowledgeable. She worked there when the home was a restaurant, so she had personal insight. It was nice to hear about the owner's history with the house. A little disappointed that it was mostly unfurnished though.

We've toured many Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings. This tour focused on the dramatic journey this house and its owners have been on... very interesting! Highly recommend a visit.

I've been to several Frank Lloyd Wright properties and I loved this one the best. Characterized as his first prairie style house, the quartersawn oak throughout and the linear styling of everything from the ballisters to the custom stained glass windows are so striking. However,...More
