On a walk about town to view the Wright designed buildings in Oak Park, the Unity Temple is a must see. Unique in design and sheer audacity for it's time, the design for the Unity Temple stands out. A statement by Wright at the time,...More

Not sure if this is for everybody - I'm a big Frank fan - but it is stunning. We did the self -guided tour, which was great because I just want to linger in the space longer than most tours allow. If you are a...More

From the outside is just plain cement, kind of plain on the inside too. There is natural window light coming in. The sanctuary has pews on different levels one even below the main floor. We took the audio tour.

We just loved this church and hearing about Wright's ideas about design. Definitely a good stop for anyone interested in Wright's designs.

The newly restored temple is an architectural gem. All the flowery descriptions of it fall short of adequately describing it. If you like FLW, it is worth the stop. You have to buy tickets at the FLW studio and home.

We couldn't visit the interior but watched the outside from every angle and that alone is already worth to go for.

Unity Temple just opened this month. One of Wright's great public buildings, it is a bookend to the Guggenheim in NYC. The sanctuary is magnificent. Do not miss.

In SEP 2016 the church was under renovation, so check before having your heart set on seeing and experiencing the architectural landmark. We were there in 2001 and made sure that we attended a Sunday service, which I would recommend to anyone. Sure a tour...More
