The Peoria Zoo is home to over 100 species of animals from around the world. From giraffes and rhinoceros to spider monkeys and sea lions, the Zoo is the wildest family place in town.

The Peoria Zoo is open year round. Our Education Department offers programs for ages 2 and up. The Peoria Zoo really tries but they do need more animals. Would love to see some seals or things like that.

A small zoo with a small town feel. It's a great stop along the way, a great addition to a trip, but not the real reason to make a trip to Peoria The Animals are well taken care of! The park is one of the most handicap accessible zoo's I've been in and Ave never seen is so crowded that... More

If you're comparing Peoria Zoo to Chicago or St. Louis, there's not much to talk about. But you have to remember that Peoria is a town of about 120,000 people that doesn't exactly scream "vacation destination," so the zoo will reflect the amount of dollars that the local community can put into it. My point: set your expectations accordingly. If... More

The "new" Peoria zoo is so much more than it used to be, so if you haven't been there in the last few years you should make a visit. It is a bit pricey, but you can really turn it into a several hours visit which makes it quite affordable. Toward the end, there is a playground with rock climbing... More

I remember coming to the zoo back when I was in school for field trips. Now when I bring my grandchildren I'm amazed at how this place is really changed for the better. Their wildlife exhibit areas are fantastic. It's great to see animals and habitats that look close to where they might've come from. Plus they have a great... More

The peoria zoo was recently updated and expanded. For a city the size of Peoria, it is a very nice place for a family to spend an hour or a day. I would recommend a visit to any family living here or visiting.

I had never been to the zoo and I had my friend's 6 year old. We did the kid's museum and then decided to hit the zoo. Not very many animals due to it being October but we did see a lot. She loves zebras and we ooh'd and aaah'd over the baby giraffe. I will definitely take the kids... More
