An unusual structure for the city of Quincy. No elevator to second level, so its not totally accessible. Would be nicer if there was access to the roof so that we might enjoy the view of the Mississippi River.

This is a neat home to see if in the area. Self guided tours. My wife and I walked through the home in about 15-20 minutes. No one was working there when we got there a different person had stopped to get something and let us in. Would have been nice to hear something about the home and it's history.... More

Quincy doesn't have a lot of tourist attractions. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful and takes about ten minutes to see. Maybe there is a group discount but $5.00 per person if you are taking a family - pass.

Lovely view of the mighty Mississippi River from the bluff. The Villa Kathrine - or the Castle as it is commonly called - provides a unique part of Quincy IL history with lovely view of a Mediterranean Castle.

It's pretty the center of the house and outside but that it was disappointed by this they had you 2 or three page detailed list that would take you longer to read than it does to go thru it :(

Villa Kathrine is a traditional Moroccan style home built by a man for his wife... turns out she never lived there. It's a curious little place probably because the architecture is so non-Western. The view is quite good over the Mississippi River and it appears that the owner spared no expense at the time. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a... More

What little I could see was pretty but had better access on website. Volunteer was friendly and helped us find other venues but its not very handicap accessible so we didn't pay to see more. I assume there is a wheelchair lift somewhere but couldn't find it. While not in a wheelchair, illness makes me slow like a turtle and... More

The lady at the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the castle and it's history. It was smaller than I expected but it is a nice place come to get other tourist information and the views of the river are fantastic.

My husband always talks about his fondness of the Villa Katherine. I was very happy to finally get the chance to visit it. I was surprised to see how tiny the rooms were, but the architecture is beautiful and the history of the home is intriguing. The cost tour is very inexpensive. It will take all of 30 minutes to...
