what I like about places like that, this is the location. In the town parks like that, nature in the middle of the road which you can enjoy alone or with family. Nicely design trails giving you approach to walk with stroller. Important: during summer time to make sure you pick up mosquito spray with you!

By acreage, this park is quite small, but you wouldn't know it when you're in the woods. There are many paths, some with boardwalk. And there are even hills, which is a rarity for east central Illinois! There's a river adjacent to the park, and a pedestrian bridge over the river from the nature center. There are also a number... Busey Woods, a part of the Crystal Lake Park complex, is a paradise for people who enjoy walking in the woods. If traversing these woods, for safety reasons, insure your family is always together, or have a communications system -- this place is HUGE.

Beautiful woods close to my hotel. Love have this nature site in the middle of a city! Part of the trail has wooden sidewalks, so people with physical challenges could enjoy the woods as well!

With a board walk to keep you dry in the wet Spring Weather and a neat Nature Center with class rooms, Master Naturalist volunteers, and a great staff . I love to just take a walk across the stream and look around for migrating songbirds.

I have always enjoyed a most quiet stroll through these small woods just by myself or with a friend. Busey Woods is located accross the street from a cemetary so at night it can be a little creepy.

I could be biased because of an early childhood trip, but Busey Woods makes me happy. It's quiet and peaceful; great for a short walk along a wooden trail that has nature facts on boards throughout. The nature center is fun and enjoyable for all ages.

Nice place to take a walk, in town yet has the feel of the country. Nice short easy trails and we've seen lots of deer. Open year round and a great getaway from it all!

Nice wooden walking path through the woods. If you come early in the morning bring binoculars to check out the various birds. Right now you need lots of bug spray as well. I like checking out the displays at nearby Anita Purves Nature Center.

Busey Woods is a lovely place to go for a quiet walk (although you can't take your dog.) We usually just stay on the wooden walkway. Every time we go, we see something different. Birds, plants, amphibians, etc. Can easily be walked in less than an hour but lots to see (and hear and smell) so can take longer.
