This building and the grounds are always maintained to perfection. The intricate detail on the inside and outside of this building will keep you captivated. There is a museum in the lower level of the temple that gives the complete history of the building process and timeframe. If you are a photographer you will want to arrive either before sunrise... I live on the north shore and always, always, always take out of town guests to walk around the Baha'i House of Worship. The grounds are spectacular in summer/fall. The inside is gorgeous. I always walk around and read and reread the words on the building inside. They are inspiring regardless of your faith. The visitor's center is relatively new... More

When driving up Sheridan Road into the Wilmette area, lo and behold, there is a magnificent structure on the left that takes my breath away. I've been convinced (since a small child), that this temple is a reflection of HEAVENLY peace. I remain reverentially in awe of the dominion beauty that surrounds this particular Baha'i House of Worship. Whenever I... More

BEautiful building. Especially on a blue sky day. But the visitor's center is pretty empty. very peaceful. The religion itself is not very well explained, except that it is open to all people and all are welcomed. It is the only Baha'i temple in North America. Free.

We dropped in to spend some time at the Sunday morning service. All are welcome and the service consists of readings and singing by a choir (which that day was a terrific gospel choir). The architecture is a marvel and must be seen. Later we dropped into the visitor center - it would have been better if we had gone... More

We were looking for beautiful places to photograph, and the Baha'i House of Worship was magnificent! The pools, the plants, and the grounds, were meticulous. Inside, we were thrilled with the beautiful architecture.

The Baha'i Temple is a stunningly beautiful building - inside and out. Regardless of your faith - or lack thereof, anyone with an appreciation of stunning architecture should take in this building and it warrants being viewed both during the day and at night.

Atheist here, but a lover of temples and religious architecture. This temple is Ah-mazing. Just barely north of Chicago and the only one of its kind on North America, it is a must see. The acoustics for the choral ceremony are amazing and the space is decidedly uplifting. Open to the public daily, all are welcome.

This amazing place is one of the 7 Temples for North America. I have never seen a building where the concrete is similar to lace. The door are open to everyone. The new welcome and information center is a wonderful source of information for people of all ages. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the experience. The gorgeous gardens and... More
