Nice wetlands walk. Bit of bird spotting. If you have been driving all day / doing the wine route, the wetlands hike out on the boardwalk gets the legs going. One of Tasmania Park's 60 Great Short Walks.

The wetlands are a gem with so many birds to see. It is a long walk to the island but it is well worth it. The reference centre is well set up.

This wetland is spectacular. The walk is pleasant and took us about 1.5 hours at a steady pace to return. This was a highlight of visiting Launceston and its surrounds. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to enjoy a casual sight seeing stroll not far from...More

Good board walk and place generally well maintained. Interesting history along the way but it is a good walk to the island and back so depends on what else you need to fit in your day whether you make this a priority.

Beautiful weather helped our enjoyment of the hike here. We were unaware of some of the history and wildlife habits. Recommend to anyone that wants to take a short jaunt from the hustle and bustle of Launceston and just spend some time with nature.

This is an easy drive a few kms outside Launceston. Basically you have a walk along a boardwalk for, I think, about 1.5 kms taking you over several water channels popular with waterfowl. There's one viewing hide amongst a grove of paperbark trees, and a...More
