This should be undertaken in cam and beautiful weather condition. We had drizzle of rain and icy cold winds. Apart from that it was very interesting as well as the visit to the excellent information centre where knowledgeable volunteers explained the birdlife in the wetlands....More

Excellent information center with very knowledgeable volunteers who seem very passionate about the wetlands. The board walk is very clean and well laid out, lots of birds to see even in the middle of winter. Great view from the island. Please make a donation!!!

A great way to spend a couple of hours. Don't forget to pick up a very informative brochure before you start your walk.... Donations are gratefully accepted .

This is a well organised walk across wetlands to small island, you might get lucky and see some water birds such as native hens, egrets, purple swamp hens, swans and pelicans.

Great level easy access nature walk so close to Launceston. About 5km return but suitable for prams. Picnic tables out at the island for afternoon tea

Tamar wetlands - I would say is the best place in Launceston which highlights nature's beauty of flora and fauna. If you are in Launceston then do visit this place.

Nice wetlands walk. Bit of bird spotting. If you have been driving all day / doing the wine route, the wetlands hike out on the boardwalk gets the legs going. One of Tasmania Park's 60 Great Short Walks.

The wetlands are a gem with so many birds to see. It is a long walk to the island but it is well worth it. The reference centre is well set up.
