This rescue center is well worth the visit. These creatures are well cared for by a passionate staff. I highly recommend this to anyone able to go. It will also enlighten you to how insane some of our laws regarding exotic animals are. Take the time - it is worth it.

My husband & I decided to visit on a Friday afternoon. We'd been there before but not for a couple years. We paid $10 each and joined a tour of about 10 people (adults & children). Our guide was very knowledgeable & told us each cat's story -- they're all sad being tales of abuse from individuals and circuses. The... More

We visited with our family and really enjoyed this tour. It was about an hour and it was really cool to hear where the cats came from and how they were doing now. Kind of seemed like a retirement village for senior cats ;) there were a few younger but each one neat in their own way. One wheelchair in... More

For a small fee, you get to see beautiful big cats- up close! The rescue does an amazing job of housing these magnificent creatures with the resources they have available. The tours are highly informative and interesting. Visiting the rescue is a great way to contribute to the care of the cats and to have a wonderful day.

It is truly an amazing experience every time I visit the EFRC. It's sad that so many people mistreat these majestic animals and keep them as pets etc. The EFRC is not a zoo, it is a non for profit rescue center that takes in exotic cats that are confiscated but the government, turned over by private owners, traveling circuses,... This place is awesome! The $10 fee to tour is waaay too cheap for the needs of these beautiful animals!! They are in an awesome part of Indiana and their habitats are just like the jungle except for the fencing of course! The cats are all well taken care of and I was in AWWW just being there! Enjoy! It... More

This place was recommended to us when we were looking for something to do close to IU in Bloomington, IN. What a nice surprise it was! The center was about 40 mins from Bloomington and gave us one of the most interesting tours complete with the history behind each of the rescue animals. It was as up close and personal... More

With over 200 big cats, especially tigers, EFRC is one of the biggest rescue habitats in the country. It is NOT a zoo. Your guide will take you down the forested paths and you'll see lots of cats of all shapes and sizes. One or two might be quite playful, but keep your hands to yourself! Kids will really like... What a truly awe-inspiring experience! Not only were we separated by only a chain-link fence during the walking tour, we befriended Sebastian, a tiger, housed right outside our cabin when we stayed overnight. We played peek-a-boo with a white tiger! We got splashed while playing with a bengal tiger! We got to hear King, an African lion, roar! To sit... More

There is no other place I know of where you are so close to all kinds of exotic felines. Only a chain link fence distance away from the amazing animals. You can come face to face with them. This is something I've always wanted to do and I got to do it here. This is a place you must visit.
