Home to over 2,000 animals and Indiana's largest aquarium, this 64-acre zoo has lions, elephants and other wild animals roaming through natural settings. A special petting area allows children to touch, but not feed, the tamer animals. There's also the world's largest enclosed dolphin show and a roller-coaster for all ages to enjoy.

Dizzy is a term I use to describe the price of going to this zoo. For 3 adults and 2 kids (3 and 4 years old) it cost me nearly $100.00. Way too much money for grandparents on a fixed income to take their grandkids...More

Indy Zoo has some animals and exhibits that are not always found in traditional city zoos. Of particular note are the Dolphin show and the Orangutan habitat. Both are first class.

The Indianapolis Zoo is very much world class. If your travels to Indy give you an open half day, go to the Zoo. Plenty of parking if you drive but also an easy walk from downtown ( just over 1/2 mile). All of the major...More

Not the greatest zoo I have been to, but also not the worst. Very quick to get through everything and I get the sense that we were overcharged. Still a fun day with the family. I would just plan on having something else to do...More

Great (but chilly) day at the zoo. Despite the cold, the animals were all out and active: bears, lions, giraffes, elephants, orangutans, etc. The dolphin show was awesome. My only complaint was that there was so much going on, you didn't know where to look...More

Holy smokes, for a family of 4 it was $55.00 to get into this place. Its very small and doesn't have a lot of exhibits. The train ride was super weird and you couldn't even see any animals. I was most impressed with their underwater...More

We stopped by for a quick trip through the inside buildings. It was chilly! I went ahead and renewed our membership due to the tickets being $17 for the kids and $22 for adults. We come to Indianapolis pretty regularly although my kids have lost...More

We visited on a nice 50 dagree day in March. We had a great time. My only negative would be the price of the food in the cafe area, 30 bucks for two chicken sandwiche meals and a grilled cheese by itself is a bit...More

We usually love the zoo but went last Friday and our group was quite disappointed. Our group felt that we should have been informed that most of the animals were not even on display! The animals we were able to see were well taken care...More

They have an aggressive/sneaky "variable" fee schedule. Vacation days and weekends, etc. cost more, slow days cost less. So you'll have to check their website to see ticket prices for the day you want to visit, or adjust... More

Best to arrive late afternoon to see the animals and avoid the crowds. But you'll want to be there for at least an hour after dark to get the full effect of the lights.
