Tucked in beside the State Museum, it is easy to overlook this fine museum, but don't. You can have a very enjoyable time looking through the museum's fine collection of western art (Remingtons, Russells, and a whole lot more) and then go upstairs and see a very nice selection of Native American art (both practical artifacts as well as more... Went to see the Dogs Faithful and True exhibit which was okay. But it was the augmenting programs that really captured my interest. From the mushing demonstration to the Iditarod speaker, the wandering therapy dogs and "draw a dog" programs, I had trouble tearing myself away from the museum! Did stop briefly in the gift store, but not much related... More

We really loved spending time here today. The museum is well laid out and the staff are fantastic too! We visited the Native american and West displays and we loved every minute of it. The cafe was also nice though we were a little late for lunch. If you plan to have lunch her do so before 2:30 as there... More

My wife and I love history and we thought that this museum would have more about the Native History. Most of the art and artifacts were less than 100 years old

The museum is worth seeing. The dog show is not as large as I thought it would be. They have a very good Indian collection.

This is a lovely, small museum which is very easy to access by car, with a parking garage beneath and an elevator straight to the front door. There are two ground-floor galleries with an extensive collection of art depicting the West and native Americans. These are most impressive and very well curated. The upstairs galleries provide a selection of art... More

Accompanied a group of kids in town for a music festival and was impressed by the old west exhibits. A must see is the Remington exhibit and bronze casts. The dog exhibit was pretty neat, it felt a little out of place - like it should have been in a science museum - but the kids enjoyed it. The gift... More

Enjoyed the display of historic items, pictures and sculptures of dogs and their place in the lives of their humans.
