Lockerbie Square is a small residential neighborhood at the northeast edge of downtown Indianapolis. Although it's an easy walk from downtown and right next to Mass Ave with all the shops and restaurants, when you step into Lockerbie Square, you feel very far away from the busy streets. There are pretty, old houses, cobbled streets, and lots of trees. The... More

Lockerbie Square District, the old Indianapolis, is a small area with historic lovely houses and cable stones roads. You can have a ride in the district: it'll take few minutes.

I'm so glad that we took the time to visit the Lockerbie District. It's a great place to take a walk along Massachusetts Ave. You'll see plenty of little shops and eating establishments. There are about three busy blocks. Don't miss any of them.

James Whitcom Riley home museum was very interesting. Also near the restored historic area with quaint shops, etc.

This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Indianapolis. The Square is located east of downtown where New York Street meets East Street. You can drive through all the streets and see all the old houses but parking is restricted everywhere in the square to residents only. We thought the best street was Lockerbie Street itself. It is... If you are in downtown Indianapolis, it's a nice little walk over to Lockerbie Square. This small residential neighborhood is beyond charming! There are adorable little cottage houses and one or two nearly mansion sized ones as well. The neighborhood is quiet and well-kept. It's like you've stepped back in time to walk the streets.

One could carve out a pretty good life here, Lockerbie next to Mass Ave, next to Rathskeller. Call it walking scale (index) or whatever new term works for human. But, don’t call it gentrified, at this point; Lockerbie is so old it must be on its second and third generation of boomers to Xers. I suggest a good pair of... More

I drove in from Michigan St. and parked on N. Park. It was a Saturday and I had no problem finding a spot, but I had to use a parking meter. It's $1.50 hr. If you're there on Sunday there's no charge. I only had two quarters so I paid for twenty minutes and began walking. This is a cute... More

I've been fortunate enough to do business with local companies. We like to come here for lunch during the week. Plenty of good restaurants and if you have time, nice shops too. I've not been here in the evenings but I'm sure you won't go wrong then either.

Stroll through the area and admire architecture from days gone by. This area of town is a stone's throw from the Circle and historic in its claim of Riley's childhood home. Hey, I miss your neighborhood garage sale! That was awesome! Bring it back!
