The museum represents the beginning of scientific psychiatry and modern medicine while the building itself is the oldest surviving pathology facility in the nation and is on the National Register of Historic Places.The museum is open to the public Thurs-Sat from 10am to 4pm. Tours take place every half hour, with the last tour beginning at 3pm. Groups of 10 or more may be scheduled in advance for Wednesday or for regular operating hours.Admission: Adults $5, University Students $3, Children under 18 $1. The museum is unable to accept credit cards.

Very interesting little museum and great guides. Tours are every hour on the hour. No place to wait inside so if the weather is bad you will have to wait in your car. It's a little off the beaten path but worth it.

In 1967, they walked out and locked the door. But interested parties recognized the opportunity to preserve a moment in time. Now the museum is the only piece of Central State Hospital for the Insane that functioned on this 160 acres from the late 1800's....More

I don't recall price but it may be on their website or give them a ring. Very friendly.. It was about an hour and a half tour and we had lots of questions and dialogue.
