I visit all the wineries each November during the Fall Wine Haul and then again when I take occasional visits south...I love Madison and I love this winery most of all the ones I visit...they have the most knowledgeable employees...they take the time to explain each wine during tastings...they don't just toss you a shot and move on to the... I stopped by on a rainy day in July and chatted with the owner. He was very knowledgable about wine and it's history. I love the lighter sweet wines from this winery. I will go back in my next visit.

The establishment is easily accessed downtown. It is charming and has an outdoor patio. We stopped around lunch and settled on a red wine along with a fresh baguette (made daily on the premises). Then we choice some different cheeses and Italian meats for an Italian like lunch. The young lady who was hosting there that day was a delight... More

If you get a chance to visit Madisn, IN along the Ohio River you not be disappointed. Found Thompson Family Winery, where you can get some great local wines. If you like dry reds, you must stop in. You can lounge on the patio or sit inside the tasting room, filled with eclectic furnishings. What goes better with a great... More

The wines were so, so. Needed a bit more flavoring. The winery itself was decorated comfy and was more like a bar/restaurant.

If you're in town in might be worth your time to stop in at this little winery. There's not much to do except taste wine or maybe go sit in their little courtyard . I think they have music on some Saturday nights and a few events. It's not in areal attractive area but don't let that keep you away.... More

Always a must, The Wine and Hard Cider Steve makes are old world style. A number of types to choose from and never a poor choice. I enjoy the variety of cheeses they have on hand. From Folk to Bluegrass to Acoustic Rock the Saturday night music has never disappointed. Great people and always a great time

We loved the wine and cider. Spent a cozy evening by the fire with Irish music. Great selection of cheese, meat and bread plates to complement the wine. Proprietor did an excellent job describing the wines. Prices were good. Overall nice experience.

While staying in Madison for the weekend, we picked a few local wineries to taste at and Thomas Family Winery was on our list. I kind of wish we had gone in a little later in the day, we stopped in quite early in the morning once they opened and were the only ones there. They have a cute little... More
