Nice visit!

Our quite was informative and the house was fun to see. There were some original furnishings and clothing that she wore. The yard had pretty flowers too. Glad we stopped.

I will admit it...I'm a sucker for small museums. Many turn out not be worth much...but just often enough one stands out. This is one of those. The chances of you ever getting to Boone, Iowa, are probably not great. However, should you ever be in the area, this little gem is worth a visit. Mamie did not reside here... More

Open daily thru the Summer with conducted tours. Mamie was born in this house and its full of her family's items. Great look at a period of history. Two automobiles in carriage house. One Mamie's and the other her Uncle Joel's. License plate collection of her fathers. See clothing of hers. Large library in basement. Must see.

My husband and I happened to have a day to kill in the Boone area. We decided to drive past the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace and take some photos of the outside of the house. When we visited (in early May) it was open by appointment only, and we did not have an appointment. But as it happened, a guide... More

We had an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. Lots to see here in a very small home. The museum in the basement has plenty to see. Plan on being there about 2 hours to take it all in.

This was a must see for us! After all, she was the First Lady of our nation! Very humble but beautiful and a definite piece of our history!

What a well-preserved piece of history in this lovely Iowa far town! Be sure and know that you must arrange a tour. Website listed hours open but when we arrived, there was a note on the door with a phone number to call for tour. I had actually called one number prior to visit and did not get an answer.... More

Tours are by appointment only. We were only able to take pictures from the street and read the little brass placque in front of the house. Would have liked to have seen the interior.
