The Dale Chihuly exhibit was the primary reason for our visit and we were not disappointed. It was spectacular to see the evidence of blown glass artistry being pushed to its technical limits. But we were also delighted with the rest of the museum and other exhibits. We will return to spend more time at the permanent exhibit, Faces of... More

We got stranded in Cedar Rapids because of the weather and a Delta Airlines systems crash. So, figuring we had a few hours we visited Czech Village and the nearby museum. The Museum is an amazing building having to be moved just a few years after it was built because of a historic flood in 2008. So, seeing the determination... More

Visited the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library back i November of 2016 with my husband (we had just married a few days prior), my sister, and her husband. This isn't my first visit, but wanted to show my husband what a great museum, and gift shop exists here in the Czech Village in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We loved... More

What I especially like about this museum is their expansive approach to their subject. I've seen excellent exhibits about famous Czech Americans, about Czech artists as well as about the Czech & Slovak experience in the United States.

Museum was hit by flood in 2008 and was moved to new location. There is a lovely little theatre where you can see a film about the move. The gift shop is fantastic - you can shop there without buying admission if you want to grab a gift for someone or yourself. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Free... More

I took my kids here for the first Saturday Students Get In Free deal. It was very interesting. We were there over 2 hours and still didn't get to do everything. My 7 and 8 year old want to go back, which says something for a museum. They had crafts for the kids, a storyteller, and more. If we didn't... More
