Best car museum in Eastern IA

A hidden gem. A variety of cars that go from 1900 to 1990. Some are very unique and are not seen anywhere else.

We came here mainly to see the antique car collection, but there is also a Johnson County Historical Museum that is included in the admission price. It is well worth the visit. There are many neat cars to see and each is labeled with year make and model. There are also some interesting facts about the companies and specific cars.... More

2 museums in one building for 1 admission price. The county museum side was OK but somebody locally would be much more interested. My wife didn't find the car museum that interesting. Plus it was quite warm inside when we were there and that didn't help. I, on the other hand, found it different than most museums as they had... More

$5 admission for adults, children under 12 free. Video presentation available if interested. Great selection packed in organized fashion. Was our first look at a window air conditioner for cars and pullout bed for cars. Cool stuff. Much more. Also a train layout. In same building with Johnson County Historical Museum, which requires another $5 admission. Walkable distance from Marriott... More

Seeing all the antique cars brought back memories of the 40s, 50s and 60s. Most on display were well preserved and the guide on duty was very informative.

The museum's outside & lobby are deceptive as what the museum's floor layout is constructed. After paying the $5.00 admission fee, I was given a list of 89 vehicles, which range from a 1899 Haynes-Apperson to a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. I would say at least 50 vehicles have been completely restored. Other vehicles are in restoration or possibly never... More

This is a hidden gem. I had no idea this place existed until very recently. I was surprised with the number of cars in this collection. The cars range from the very early 1900s to 1964. Each car represents something significant, such as the first car with hydraulic brakes. All of them apparently run except for two or three. We... More

This is a great place to go back in time to see the good old days. They have vintage cars and even displays from the past. Free admission and very helpful staff..

worth a stop is you like older vintage cars, they have a Duesenberg. Connected to the car museum was their county museum, good 2 for one.
