What a wonderfully fun array of shops and restaurants, unique in its local flavor and feel from anywhere else in the Midwest. We stayed at Staybridge Suites for the weekend and ventured around. A few standout stops: a spiked shake @ Zombie Burger, the fun...More

Would like to go back to check out more of the shops and restaurants. Some music venues and a very family friendly area.

Whether you are wanting to do some serious shopping, grab something great to eat, people watch or play vintage video games, the East Village has it all. Fun place to people watch too.

Definitely the best area of downtown with a range of good restaurants and retail stores and bars. It's a small neighbourhood - but a nice spot to spend a few hours wandering the area and perhaps stopping for a drink or bite to eat.

Many shops and eateries near the State Capitol in Des Moines. Plenty of tap rooms and bars. There's some up-scale dining.
