Remembering Days Gone Bye

It has been too many years since I visited Wild Cat Den State Park and the Grist Mill. It's wonderful to see that the old mill has been restored.

Great little Gem in Iowa - the Pine Creek Grist Mill and Wildcat Den park. Go and learn about the mill and enjoy some hiking and camping a Wildcat Den Park. Great family fun and some wonderful picture opportunities.

This gem is located in Wildcat Den State Park near Muscatine, IA. Restored 1848 grist mill with machinery and millstones. Great place to explore.

This old grist mill is a local gem. It is hard to believe it is still a free tour! Located in Wild Cat Den State Park, it is staffed with knowledgeable folks that are well versed in the the history of the mill and its operations. There is also an old one room school house next door that is open... More

Wanted to take pictures of my daughter down near the water, seemed like the perfect place. Didn't know that was where the boozers and lung bandits come to fish. Really took away from the beauty of the place.

We have been here several times and I love the beauty of this park. Whether you are traveling the trails or visiting the Grist Mill and old one room school house, there is so much to do. In the fall, we always go to the Buckskinner's Rendezvous where period costumed people show their skills and teach the ways of the... More

My husband and I enjoyed this stop. It's stroller friendly. I wish we could see inside the windows at least but the one room school house, mill and bridge were perfect for a light afternoon stroll. We really enjoyed ourselves. We didn't see and paddles on the mill. It didn't seem to be in operation.

I took my 10 yr old son to hike here. He had an absolute blast. You cannot professionally climb on the rocks, but they can be climbed. It was so much fun, there are fantastic trails thru the woods. The Pine Creek Grist Mill is neat to see from the bridge. Watch out for snakes as I'm told they like... More

This mill has been around for a long time and is full of history at every turn. It is a beautiful stop where you can picnic or wander around. The Mill has workers inside that can help tell you about the history, as well as all original machines with historical plaques by them. This is great for a summer day... More
