Picturesque resting/viewing areas, trails for everyone if you choose, beautiful views and a little bit of tranquility in this beautiful park area. A must visit to clear your mind! We were unable to visit the nature center as it was rented out for a graduation, but that was just more time to walk the trails. Observed nice camping spots of... More

Stone State Park has been a part of Northwest Iowa for decades. It's situated in the Loess Hills along Big Sioux River and covers a little over 1,000 acres of land. Being in the Loess Hills gives this park a very unique look. It's a combination of hills, woods, ponds, streams and views of the flat land prairies. The hills... More

Stone State Park has scenic hiking trails, picnic shelters, and acres of woods. One of the trails leads to an overlook where you can view all three states - Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. No admission fee required and parking is available.

It has trees and trails and a pond. There are even lodges you can rent. I like to go mountain biking. The ranger does a very bad job and should be fired!

On a mid-day Saturday visit, I found this park under-utilized. It was a gorgeous day and should have brought out the picnic crowd and hikers, but the park was nearly empty. Very quiet, serene and beautiful. Massive oak and walnut trees which I estimate were well over 200 years old. We saw deer and wild turkey.

Numerous shelters are scattered throughout the park for reservations and parties. They're off and restrooms and pull up areas to just enjoy the views. A good place for an... More

Wild life at its best. Trails to follow and the scenery is awesome! Make sure you go to the top of a hill so you can see three states, IA, Ne, and SD

Small, but beautifully kept state park. They have a couple overlooks with great views of the land. Worth a visit if you're looking for something to do!

Had signs, but got lost after a little bit. Didn't have any hiking trails. The view at the top of the mountains was spectacular. Took our breaths away!!
