We camped for one night in the campground. The park is very pretty. The host and hostess for the campground were great. They went above and beyond to offer fun things for the campers to participate in.

My visit was just a drive through but there appeared to be nice facilities that are common in most state parks. The unique part for me was the "ford". And area of water with well marked edge to drive across the stream, river or creek depending on your point of view. After watching a couple of other cars similar to... More

The park was the first stop on our itinerary as it has the first Bridge and the tower to view ,easy access to the Bridge and I'd have to suggest that if your traveling with kids or folks that have health or leg issues to drive up to the tower

This is a great place to spend the afternoon either as a drive or to get out and stretch your legs in the park. Have taken canoes there in the past and enjoyed canoeing for a couple of hours. Love driving through the bridge

This park has a campground and some Yurts to rent. Go see them to learn what a Yurt is. There is a river to play in and some walking trails. A nice place for nature close to Winterset sites.

This park is roughly 4 miles sw of Winterset. Head west on state highway 92 until you make a left on P68. When you enter, you weave your way around a stream, then you start seeing areas where you can place your kayak at certain spots.Keep going. The key entrance for ME was the tunnel. Two lane wide, under the... More

Spent a great couple of days exploring at Pammel Park. We had fun exploring the park, and playing in the water near the ford. We got in the river on some blow up air mattresses and floated peacefully around to the other side of the bridge. Note: The trip took about 2 hours. Make sure you get out after the... More

An almost unique state park located within the town of Winterset. The woods are dense with old hardwoods and newer growth. Walking paths offer a great place to stroll or run for exercise while enjoying the quiet beauty of the place. We saw two deer while we were visiting the park.
