This was a neat thing to see on our Route 66 road trip. The lady working at the stop wasn't the friendliest, not rude, just seemed like we were kinda bothering her. Gift shop was very expensive. But seeing the trucks from Cars was neat.
We enjoyed our stop at Cars on the Route. The lady who was working that day was friendly and knowledgeable. If you are a fan of CARS you have to stop and see the home of Mater and across the street is an old garage that was the inspiration for the garage in CARS.
As we pulled up we were smiling to see the "cast" of Cars waiting for us in the parking lot. There were people outside, so we thought it was open, until we parked and someone driving by yelled out the window that it was closed. Imagine our disappointment. This little place Cars on Route is just too adorable for words. These vehicles were the inspiration for the movie and seeing them up close was strangely quite an emotional experience- don't ask me why. Lady inside is super friendly and shared photos of the original place. This is DEFINITELY a must see place on Route 66.
