Sadly, Bob Dole's political life and style may not be replicated any time soon as evidenced by our current situation. Bob got things accomplished for the good of the country and could work with most anyone to make it happen. The exhibit does not take long to go through, but I thought it was worth while to make the side... More

Visiting the Dole Center is to be reminded of the Greatest Generation -- Service to country and service in search of solutions rather than partisan gridlock. In a few short exhibits, the Dole Center portrays in a largely non-partisan way, the role that Bob Dole played in the United States Senate and before that his sacrifices during World War II.... This place is often overlooked by travelers coming to Lawrence Kansas. It has Iron beams for the World Trade Center disaster with at the time the largest stain glass flag in the US. On the wall that has the front entry is pictures of Veterans from WWII from Kansas. My wife's father is one that is on this wall. There... More

This place is a great place to visit if you are not familiar with Kansas politics and want to know more about Kansas politicians and our government leaders. My father was a Korean vet and now his military air force photo is among other Kansas honored for their service to our country.

Located in a wonderful facility the Institute serves many people and purposes. This is good for families and there is certainly plenty to do around town to keep you busy for a weekend.

I remember when they were building this memorial to Bob Dole and veterans from Kansas. My grandpa was deceased by this time, but they sent notice to veterans and their wives to send in photos of our Kansas solders in their uniforms. I remember how proud my grandma was she found a picture of grandpa and sent in. She also... More

We visited this beautiful museum with another couple in the afternoon today. We all really enjoyed this place. Very well done. We enjoyed the patriotic and beautiful building. The stained glass was gorgeous. The exhibit was informative and presented in a user friendly way. However, our visit was not enjoyable because the group of young children visiting were running around... More

Hi jolisa13, thank you for your visit to the Dole Institute! We apologize for any distraction that our young guests may have caused during your visit. We do place a high priority on education for civic engagement and history with K-12 students, and sometimes that can lead to a more noisy environment in our facility. We are happy you otherwise... Whether you are a history buff or not, this is a great place to spend a few hours entertaining out-of-towers. Read displays at your own pace, or spend several hours speed reading to get to the stories that interest you. I particularly recommend touring if you remember Dole, but were too young to realize his contribution to our world. You... More

I have had the opportunity to not only tour the facility but go behind the scenes to some of the collections. It is a small but nice place to visit. It has beams from 9/11 too. For Dole enthusiasts, this is a must-see.
