My Old Kentucky Home is one of the most famous songs to have ever been written, but it is also the name of a hallowed and beautiful Kentucky farm with many rich layers of history waiting to be explored and experienced. My Old Kentucky Home is a marvel of elegance and charm, as architecturally magnificent today as it was more than two centuries ago. Your guided house by our costumed guides spans two floors of the mansion, originally named "Federal Hill." On select days, our talented guides will sing the song, "My Old Kentucky Home," for tour guests. See 170 year old antique artifacts including paintings, high-style furniture, lavish period decor, and the carefully curated interiors of Kentucky's most famous landmark.

Very nice house with a lot of history - tours give an insight into what life was like back then. Located on a state park, so maintenance is pretty good.

When My wife's family was in town we took them here to learn about the history of where their ancestors lived before moving on to Missouri. There is a lot of history about Kentucky as a whole here so it was enjoyable for them. I had been on tours here before and they were excellent but felt this time as... More

What a wonderful tour. We were the only two people at this certain time. Our guide, "Miss Kit", was absolutely delightful, and such a BEAUTIFUL voice. She gave us chills as she sang "My Old Kentucky Home". The Rowan Home is filled with original furniture and decor. How very fortunate we are that the descendants deemed important to preserve these... I have lived in Bardstown for a long time, but this was the first time that I had ever been on this property. It was very nice and the staff was very friendly. I have no complaints at all about the venue.

Worth visiting for the attractive historic park but don't miss the tour of the mansion on grounds. A very well done tour by costumed docents with lots of commentary and stories about pre-Civil war life in the South.

My sister and I went to take the Shadows of Federal Hill Tour at My Old Kentucky Home. I haven't been there since I was young and went to see the Stephen Foster Musical (also a MUST see). We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the performances of the actors! It was just creepy enough to make it fun, but you... More

We toured this home because of the Victorian funeral decorations. Both tour guides were very informative, esp. the young lady downstairs. She has only been there for a short time and was fantastic.
