My Old Kentucky Home is one of the most famous songs to have ever been written, but it is also the name of a hallowed and beautiful Kentucky farm with many rich layers of history waiting to be explored and experienced. My Old Kentucky Home is a marvel of elegance and charm, as architecturally magnificent today as it was more than two centuries ago. Your guided house by our costumed guides spans two floors of the mansion, originally named "Federal Hill." On select days, our talented guides will sing the song, "My Old Kentucky Home," for tour guests. See 170 year old antique artifacts including paintings, high-style furniture, lavish period decor, and the carefully curated interiors of Kentucky's most famous landmark.

We visited during the Halloween production. It was fantastic! Filled with history and quite scary. Well done on every level.

On mini vacation with 14 year old granddaughter. Wanted her to learn more about our beautiful state. It had been years since I toured this mansion. Was prepared for rushed, in and out tour. Wonderful surprise! Personable, knowledgeable guides who really brought the mansion to life. Lots of stories that kept your attention. It was obvious that these two ladies... More

I didn't know what to expect from this attraction, but it was absolutely worth it. The family oil paintings really help put the guide's story together and they spare no detail. The Christmas decorations were terrific, but it would have been just as great of a visit any season.

I took the afternoon tour with the tour guide Richard. Very entertaining and interesting. The old house is beautifully restored with a big amount of original items - very unusual. Richard was great with presentation - dressed in period costume. HIGHLY recommended and enjoyed.

Being from Bardstown I try to do the candlelight tour of My Old Kentucky Home at least every other year. I went back this year even though I had been last year because they had added "A Christmas Carol" to the to the tour. The tour started with some school students singing Christmas Carols around the Visitor's Center, it's to... More

Many Bardstown volunteers committed their spare time to the effort of helping My Old Kentucky Home and worked hard to support, encourage, and increase community pride in Bardstown through this event. As featured on our regular daily Christmas tours of the mansion (which have been very popular), Christmas in the Victorian period was a relatively modest affair in terms of... More

The Dickens Evening at My Old Kentucky Home was one of the nicest Christmas events we have attended. The Home is beautifully decorated, the presentation of Dicken's A Christmas Carol was excellent and fun. We enjoyed cookies, apple cider and Carolers after and left feeling totally in the Christmas spirit! Thank you, MOKYH!

This was such a fun tour of the old mansion. I love the twist with the ghosts of the people who lived and died there. It made the history very interesting. It was fun with the grim reaper there along with a fortune teller. Nice place to walk if you like to get your steps in too. The have a... More

Very nice house with a lot of history - tours give an insight into what life was like back then. Located on a state park, so maintenance is pretty good.
