My Old Kentucky Home is one of the most famous songs to have ever been written, but it is also the name of a hallowed and beautiful Kentucky farm with many rich layers of history waiting to be explored and experienced. My Old Kentucky Home is a marvel of elegance and charm, as architecturally magnificent today as it was more than two centuries ago. Your guided house by our costumed guides spans two floors of the mansion, originally named "Federal Hill." On select days, our talented guides will sing the song, "My Old Kentucky Home," for tour guests. See 170 year old antique artifacts including paintings, high-style furniture, lavish period decor, and the carefully curated interiors of Kentucky's most famous landmark.

My daughter and I attended My Old Kentucky Christmas Carol this weekend. The production is a must see. Our group was escorted to Federal Hill by an engaging young man. Upon arriving we were met by our initial guide on the front steps. Of course,...More

We came during the holiday season “Singing Tours.” We were all excited for the kitsch of Christmas decor, period dress and singing. The house was decked out for Christmas and our tour guide suitably attired. However the tour guide sang only one song. At a...More

The grounds for the park was beautiful with very nice fall colors. The location was very close to the town and easily found. The tour was just OK. I found Madison to be irritating with her practiced laughs or giggles. I would be happier to...More

The grounds of My Old Kentucky Home are quite impeccable. Most agree that the tour is above average, so we're surprised to hear that you didn't enjoy yours, especially since our tour guides go above and beyond the typical measure of house museum staff. It...More

We did the Haunted Tour in October. The cast did an excellent job showing various aspects of the household residents. Next time, we definitely want to see it during the day.

We visited on a whim while in town because of how well known "My Old Kentucky Home" is. We were able to walk the grounds for $3.00 but could not view the inside of the house unless we went on a tour that was about...More

Thank-you for your comments on the beautiful grounds. The centerpiece attraction and purpose of the park is the mansion itself, so the majority of the educational information and points of interest are located inside the attraction, itself. Grounds passes are primarily for those that enjoy...More

Wasn't particularly interested in Stephen Foster but took the tour for local color since it was on my way. Turns out this wasn't SF's home but the plantation mansion of a rich relative (Sen. John Rowan) whom SF occasionally visited to dream and compose, including...More

We totally enjoyed the tour of this mansion and "Old Kentucky Home" of Stephen Foster. Tour guides were very good, informative and personable. Very talented at singing the song, too! The mansion is beautiful and about 75% of the furnishings inside are the original so...More

Yes...take your time and visit them all. Kentucky has a lot to offer...not just bourbon, but that's a good start.

No reservations are needed for daily tours. Special events (not exhibits) usually require advanced purchases.
