This is a mostly moderate to difficult hike. Like a condensed Red River Gorge, it has steep trails, a little rock climbing, and some amazing views. It's dog-friendly and family-friendly, judging by the groups I saw there that day. Its official name is Indian Fort...More

We wanted to hike here to the pinnacle, however it was not easy to locate. The citizens we asked about it said it was not well marked. Using a GPS, we were still not able to find it. Later talking to another local, we were...More

We used the Berea West Pinnacle hike as a training hike for a later excursion into Pisgah National Forest and the Big South Fork. So glad we did! The hike was worth it for the view from the top! It is quite a climb. I...More

Loved these hikes and views! I'm 55 and my cousin is 65, both in fairly good shape. We were huffing and puffing but the hikes were worth the views, totally gorgeous! So glad we did it!

Be sure to take water on this hike. Some parts of the trail up to the top are steep and the footing slippery, so wear appropriate shoes or boots. The view from the top is worth the trek.

Great hiking experience. Locals hike the pinnacles a lot. The views are well worth the hikes. The trails are well marked also. There are no facilities yet, so bring food and water.

The hikes at the Pinnacles are a local favorite. With a total of 5 to 6 miles of trails, its a great partial-day hike. The initial ascent has a wide path with a couple short, moderately steep sections. The trails diverge part way up and...More

Hi, I am a student at Berea College and this summer I am doing a entrepreneurship program. My cohort and I are conducting research about what makes a hiking experience awesome as one of our projects. My question is, do those who use TripAdvisor use the website link that is associated with the Berea pinnacles to gather information before you come? If not, what do you use or would you use one that was more up to date?

I did use the website however, the directions to get there were not specific. We asked local people working at Boones Hotel, but found that they weren't sure of where to park. I think that many people would benefit from more... More

Last time we hiked at Pinnacles in March 2017 the restrooms weren't open. There is a beautiful facility in the parking lot. Will the restrooms be open on weekends in June? Thanks!

Yes, dogs are welcome on the trails - leashed. There are some really dangerous cliffs and drop-offs, but a leashed, well behaved dog would be fun. My old lab mix could never make the hills. :-(
