This place has a lot of potential if managed better. The grounds at the falls are not kept too nice. Lots of upstream trash and debris settle out below the falls. I guess this could be burned to remove. The campground is small and tight,...More

Hard to know which driveway is the entrance but once in was lovely. The falls are impessive and there are nice paths along the river. The gift shop is great and miss a 1.50 ice cream cone.

Even though the actual viewing site was a roped off area, we got some great pictures and views of this wonderful waterfalls. It was a hot day and there were lots of people at the park but that made no difference. We enjoyed ourselves and...More

It is a great side trip off of 75 on our way to Gatlinburg. Short walk to falls from parking lot and is wheelchair accessible. I understand that the falls can be as little as a trickle of water depending on the amount of snow...More

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is the home of the "little Niagara." There is a lodge, many trails, and then the falls itself. You can hike to the falls or drive and park to access the falls viewing areas. There is a gift shop and...More

My husband and I visited on a Monday -- and it wasn't crowded at all! Nice, short trails to view the falls. We didn't do any of the longer ones. Falls are beautiful!

We spent a week with a 7 and a 10 years old in a cabin. The two bedroom cabin was specious and well equipped. We hiked daily on wonderful trails which are not too difficult for youngsters. The resort and the park offers a number...More

We stayed at the Dupont lodge and it is dated and needs a good cleaning. Perhaps because it was a busy time the front desk was quick and short with responses. The restaurant is overpriced and under whelming! I still cannot believe that I had...More

We had had a full day of exploring waterfalls and Cumberland falls was the last of the day. Don't get me wrong the falls were gorgeous but you had to fight the crowds just to catch a view. I suggest trying Cumberland first thing in...More

How far of a hike is it

I'd say you can see the top of the falls in less than a quarter mile hike. The bottom of the falls is down a number of flights of stairs, so the distance is probably less daunting than the climb back up after viewing....

Not sure what you're asking. the trails are open at night because that's when the moonbow is out. the trails are clear, well marked and more like packed walkways. There are people out, but it's of course, always safer in a... More
