My Husband and I drove 9 hours to come here for a friends wedding, which was held on property. The staff were always warm and helpful, from the check-in staff to the servers in the restaurant. The wedding was absolutely perfect and timeless and amazing- due in large part to the atmosphere. On our down time, we could see the... More

Driving through Kentucky, we saw a small sign directing us to a Shaker Village. So, we followed the signs and to our delight, we discovered a well preserved oasis of serenity, a stunnynlandscape & US history. We arrived late in the day, but managed to join two tours. Wow! So much information. The village is charming, the tour guides highly... More

We arrived shortly after the first tour left, so we opted to do a self guided tour. The map was a bit difficult to follow and many of the buildings were not open. Without a tour leader, there is no explanation as to what is in the buildings. The property is well maintained. Many of the buildings have been turned... More

We needed a central location to stay on the bourbon trail. We always try to find unique places when we travel and this ranks close to the top. The house we were in was build in the 1860's, but had all the amenities you will need. We had breakfast and lunch once during our stay and both were very nice.... More

The Shakers were rather extraordinary and I had misconceptions about them that were cleared up. The staff was very knowledgeable and gave great tours and presentations. This attraction is a little out of the way, but well worth the $10 admission. Also, we dined at the Trustee's Dining Room for dinner. The food was absolutely outstanding. Kudos to the Chef!!!... We were honestly very disappointed in our visit, but I gave it four stars because I see the potential when in season. Unfortunately, our guide was new and not that good, and many houses were closed. In addition, the horse buggy ride and the boat ride were not operational. The site either needs to charge less when out of season... More

I had a wonderful day at the park. Very picturesque and the restaurant at the park was superb. They had a lamb who was so sweet.

We wanted to make a point to visit the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill and it was also recommended by friends. We absolutely enjoyed it! We had a beautiful day to walk around and many of the buildings had hosts that could share stories and history with us. They were all very knowledgeable and very helpful. Tickets are required and... A very special place with lots of history, beauty and peacefulness. As soon as you come on the property, the site of a Shaker settlement. You can come just for the experience, staying in a restored dorm where the settlers lived, eat some great food at the restaurant, take part in some special event or program, take a ride through... I have visited here multiple times and it's like a breath of heaven every time. The staff are always very friendly, the rooms are clean and it is peaceful. So very peaceful. During my most recent visit, I had the opportunity to hike on some of the trails, but be warned if you choose the hiking route...BRING COMFORTABLE SHOES. Some... More
