Ft. Harrod is a step back in time, a big step back! It was a rainy day but we (12 & 9 yr. old boys) had a great time exploring and feeding the sheep!! And a must do, climb on the Osage orange tree!!!

We were directed to this gift shop to buy souvenirs. They had a nice selection and even had pencils with horses on the ends. We also enjoyed walking around the grounds and learning more about the history of the area. Worth a visit!

My first visit was 25 years ago during their Christmas open house. Since we are close by, we visit often. But there is nothing like the Christmas open house. Traditionally, it is held in the evening by lantern light. Local craftmen are located in each...More

My family and I stopped in to the Pioneer Days festival at Ft Harrod, although small but fun for my children, we decided to take a tour of the Fort while we were there. The speakers were very knowledgeable and answered all questions. I will...More

The best part was being able to talk to the people that did the demonstrations. So much fun and educational for kids of all ages.

Small but good. The festival had several vendors including food vendors! Live entertainment, fresh lemonade, and amazing bbq.

There is a lot of history here and well worth the stop. I, myself, am a history buff and was glad to add this to my visits. I have been with several student groups and have been welcome and impressed with the service.
