I grew up here in Henderson and this was the family place to go for picnics, reunions, etc. It is a great place for nature, camping, picnicking and also to enjoy the John James Audubon museum to see his naturalist art work. I had not been in several years, but it brought back wonderful memories and I intend to visit... More

Lovely park in downtown Henderson, ideal for campers and nature lovers. Large oak trees and many shaded spots to picnic.

Nonstop bicycles and barking small dogs even late into the night. We have two labs so we have dogs also. We spend time with the so no barking and they are tought not to bark. Park shuts down at 11.00 pm. No quite time till 12.00 am. People with 10' screen tvs turned up loud. Tried playing music to drown... More

I would encourage anyone who has not visited this beautiful park to take some time to check out all that it has to offer. The museum has plenty of art and history regarding John James Audubon. They also host art showings for local artists. The trails are great walking trails through the woods. They offer RV Camp Sites as well... More

Although this park is not really big it is well worth visiting the museum shows so many pictures that James Audubon painted. My daughter had her wedding there and it was wonderful.

I spent most of a day here and thought this was a beautiful park. The highlight for me was the Audubon Museum because I'm an avid birdwatcher. The museum was extremely well done and covered his entire life, including the decade (1810-1819) that he lived in Henderson, KY. It contained a lot of original Audubon artwork, personal items, and information... More

This should never be asked again by a child in America. Ever. Mine had the gall to ask that aloud. You'd think, after twelve years, he'd figure out that a spate of learning was about to happen. This is a beautiful legacy to an amazing man. Who draws birds in all their spare time? I mean in between building mills,... More

We had high hopes for a long hike then going for a big lunch. We didn't think to check the park website, and I'm sure they consider their selves "pet friendly" since they give you a whole .9 mile trail that your dog is aloud on. We were very disappointed. We thought we would make the best of it and... More

I am sorry that you did not have a good day. We want all our guests to have a positive experience. The "pet friendly" statement that you are referring to on our website applies to our cabins located in the park. We are also pet friendly throughout the park as long as your pet is on a leash. The only... More

There is a $4 fee for the museum but my husband is retired military so the fee was waved. The museum holds a lot of personal items of John James as well as historical background on his life and family. To get up close and see his sketch books with the details of animals and birds he captured is amazing.... More
