Rundown all Shops Empty But cheap Campervan Stopover
Sep 2019
Second time here.Last time early last year.Last time a few shops still open but now all closed. The Garden centre and all the shops are now due to be demolished and a new Housing estate is under planning to be built. The local residents it seems are all against this due to it being a small village. The good news is that the golf course and camping area (Campervans and Caravans only) is staying open with a new Golf Camping reception due to be built. This is all scheduled for 2020.Wonder if the £6.00 overnight charge will go up I sure hope not as even though no facilities its a lovely place to stop. One does get Aeroplanes taking off from East Midlands Airport flying over so great for any plane spotters out there.

No longer there
Mar 2019 • Couples
it took best part of an hour to get there but when we arrived it was like a Ghost Town, everything was gone and was deserted, this was one of the best Sunday outings anywhere with an abundance of Dealers, the little Café which sold good food at a reasonable price and last but not least the Garden Centre, sad loss.

Clifton Curios Model Shop
Jan 2019 • Business
I for one am so please that Mike at Cliftons Curios Model Shop is not closing. He will be re-locating nearby. This is the only model shop in Leicestershire as far as I know and what a wonderful place it is. Mike has a fantastic stock of kits and accessories and a fantastic personality. How many other model shops do you go in and the first thing you are ask is "would you like a coffee". If he hasn't got it in stock he always offers to order it for you. I for one wish Mike all the very best in the future. Well worth a visit.

Clifton Curios
Jan 2019 • Solo
Clifton Curios is not closing, Mike will be relocating to an as yet undecided location, but I have it on good authority that it will be in the same area.

Yes Breedon Priory Nurseries is closing at the end of February to make way for housing. The original plans said there would be commercial buildings for the traders to move into, but the plans have been changed & it will now be a new estate.

To begin with I thought it had closed down but a few bits remain! Some shopping stuff and a cafe but looks tired and sorry compared to my last visit!

Don't make a special trip
Apr 2018 • Friends
Well how disappointing. Called in as we were in the area and had enjoyed a visit here a few years ago and found a very run down place. The garden centre no longer exists and most of the shopping outlets were either closed or gone completely. The only saving grace was the tea room was still open so had a lovely coffee and cake served by very pleasant and helpful staff. I would however not visit again.

Seen Better Days
Mar 2018 • Couples
We hadn't visited this complex for a while and was really sad to see so much of the site closed up and left to go into disrepair. No longer has a garden centre and its only the main area still in use. Still worth a visit as there are a few vintage stalls and antiques as well as a café and book shop.
On the plus side there is plenty of free parking.

Motorhome overnight stop!
Mar 2018 • Couples
We stayed here overnight in our motorhome for £6. It isn’t a shopping complex! It may have been once, but most of it has closed, what is left is sad and run down, seems the original garden centre has closed which has had a knock on effect to the other businesses. As an overnight stop in motorhome or caravan couldn’t fault it, lovely views, adjacent to the golf course and peaceful.
