I would go as early as you can- not sure what time the first tour is but the walking tour was great and be sure to see the movie. We loved the movie- it is shown often and you just walk in to see it- great music and gives you the feel of the place- would do it before the tour if you have time. We didn't have a chance to eat there but I assume it would be fun to eat there- I think they have concessions on race days as well as nicer sit down places. Parking seemed to be plentiful right in front of the museum and entrance. All well paved and marked. Sounds like a great place to spend the holiday. We were there in Oct. and racing season was pretty much done so it was pretty quiet. Great gift shops too- if you have time and interest, we loved the pre-dawn tour as well.
