Beautiful!

We attending a wedding on site, and it was beautiful! Loved the house, and the garden. The pavilion was lovely for a reception overlooking the river.

If you like history and have a good imagination this is the place to go . In the summertime they have a full flower garden as well as growing a full vegetable garden. The house is large with the old furnishings in it. Your imagination can go wild seeing the boats and rafts going down the river hauling their wares... More

I really enjoyed my visit here. The docents were knowledgeable and there was a lot of activities. There was a class going on about archaeology. Very, very informative!

Great place for a family outing - picnicking, walks or biking. The Louisville Loop is adjacent. The pavilion can be reserved for group functions as well. Would be a nice place to watch the river rise but they're closed the road right now. BooHiss!

We have visited this historic home a few times over the past months. They have different events throughout the year where they will dress in period garb and give you the full effect of the home in that time. Good for history enthusiastics and families. Great place to take pictures and for photo shoots.

This site doesn't have the exposure of Locust Grove or the Speed Mansion, but is just as important. This home was more of the 'blue-collar' of the time period. Located on the river for ease of product transport, they also took in weary travelers to a room with separate entrance. Yes, it is out from the main part of the... More
