Great service and yummy bourbon as always!
We showed up here on a whim and had a very pleasant visit. You definitely need to plan ahead if you want to do a tour, but their little restaurant/tasting room is great if everything is booked. We were able to do a tasting and the staff was very informative and friendly. Definitely recommend visiting but book in advance if you want to do a tour on the weekend.

    Husband's birthday weekend getaway
This was mine and my husband's first time at woodford reserve distillery. I brought him for a tour and tasting because woodford reserve is one of his favorite to drink. We had Robin as our tour guide and he was great. We loved how informative he was and how passionate he was throughout the tour. The history and the process of everything was great to learn and something my husband and I really enjoyed. The woodford reserve distillery is a bit more modern compared to some other ones we have been to but it was a great experience and beautiful grounds. We also went to the cocktail bar on the grounds after our tour and tasting it was so really nice, the cocktails were delicious and we especially liked the beautiful display of all the different and some rare woodford reserve bottles on a wall. We would totally be back. One thing we would give feedback on is it would be nice if there were some limited edition bottles available at the gift shop for purchase.

Great Tour & Tasting; Disappointed by Availability in Gift Shop
Beautiful distillery and great tour, but disappointed with available bottles to purchase. We did the 'Innovation Inspired Tour and Tasting' because it included an elevated tasting (Woodford original, distillery series, masters series & baccarat). We had the hopes of tasting them and then purchasing a bottle. The tasting was delicious, but the gift shop did not have the distillery series or masters series available for purchase. We specifically selected the tour for that reason, and were disappointed we didn't have the opportunity to buy. The website should be clearer about what they currently have in stock for purchase. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time at Woodford.

We had stopped by to check the gift shop and grab a few photos. The beauty and history of the distillery are amazing! We given a “Wow moment” when an employee Jeremy D asked if we had 5 minutes and offered to show us around impromptu and unsolicited. The hospitality and access was incredible! Highly recommend visiting.

    Innovation Tour was Impressive
Thoroughly enjoyed our Innovation Tour on 4/8/23 with Tresa. Lots of insights and answers to questions as all 14 of us had never been there. As a guide she was quite at ease and very enthusiastic. Our timing of the tour was perfect as we got to see the last of some newly filled barrels being rolled out to the next building for storage. That was really a thrill. I managed to get a quick video clip to send to my bourbon loving brother and he agrees it's the kind of thing that you just have to be in the right place at the right time for. Even our guide admitted she's been lucky enough to see it a few times but it's a sight that never grows old. Our tour ended with a tasting of 4 of the bourbons. The last of the 4 was the stunning high end that's in the baccarat bottle. In addition we had a chocolate bourbon candy/. It's made by another company but uses Woodford - of course. My husband, is a true martini lover, arranged the tour for me, the bourbon drinker in our home. Afterwards, he agreed he probably needs to drink bourbon more often.

    Rainy Day
A rainy but gorgeous day after derby. Gorgeous grounds. Tasting of senses was nice but felt a bit rushed at 30 mins. Visited cocktail bar however not really cocktail bar just trailer with 3 $17 drinks. Grounds were beautiful and historical.

    Bourbon Tasting experience
Are you curious about bourbon? The tasting was an enjoyable experience to learn a bit about the process of making different bourbons and then being able to sample multiple varieties. We really enjoyed the tasting experience and wish that we had more time so that we could have toured the actual distillery.

This tour was very interesting since this is one of the oldest bourbon makers, so you get to see the original buildings and how they still use wooden vats. I felt the group was too big, but it all worked out. It is a walking tour and they do have a golf cart to help those who cannot walk. Of course , the tasting was fun and the gift shop well stocked. Enjoy.

Great tour in a historic distillery on beautiful grounds.
So many good things to say about this place. Beautiful grounds, very nice new gift shop and tasting room. Our tour guide was very fun and also very informative. But the highlight of the experience is definitely the tour, and particularly the stills. Six beautiful copper stills in an old distillery. You get to see several different stages of the distilling process, as well as some of the old warehouses where they still store some of the casks. And then the free tasting with three bourbons, one mini cocktail and a bourbon ball chocolate. What's not to love?

    Great Tour & Tasting
Had a great time. Our guide Jeremy was very informative and fun and we had great weather for the tour. The tastings at the end are always nice. This was the only one I’ve been on that gave me chocolate. The drive out to the distillery was past thoroughbred farms and made for a beautiful drive and the distillery is a beautiful area.

The tours fill up quickly. We booked to late (3 days in advance) to get the 70 min walking tour and had the shorter tasting tour instead. Enjoyed that on too. Even my wife who is not a whiskey person.

We went on this tour on Valentine’s Day 2024. The grounds are beautiful. The staff was friendly. Our tour guides were knowledgeable. We took the tour and it was good but not great. Not because of the staff but because of the content. It focused a lot on the product which was good but we didn’t get any history of the brand. We looked through a glass door at the bottling process which was not my favorite part.
However, the tasting room was nice. The gift shop was stocked with everything we tasted.
I would say it was nice but not memorable.

We were visiting our friends in Lexington 2 weeks ago and they took us to the recommended distillery.
Due to the loss of my son in Afghanistan, one of the medics that tried to save him told me about the bottle engraving.
Since I was there, I had 2 wonderful women helping me at the counter to get my bottle engraved.
After they heard about my son's loss, they recognized what families go through. I can't describe what those employees did for me, including our conversation and our tears. There also was a young man in the military reserve that I thanked for his service.
I would also admire the gentleman that handled our tour. This was a unbelievable experience that I will never forget !

Informative tour with fascinating history. We did this tour as part of a Bourbon Trail trip with a bus tour. We enjoyed the path to flavor tour. The tour guides were excellent and talked loud enough and seemed excited about the history. The reason for four stars was our bus driver was not allowed to step foot in the place per Woodford Reserve rules. I found this a bit snobbish. Our bus driver was fun and informative. He should be allowed to have a good experience as he sells the place to tourists. Also, the gift shop was very expensive. I didn’t see a lot of people purchasing.

We had a great tour & tasting with Rob. The tour was so interesting and the tasting was just lovely! I highly recommend a stop at Woodford if you’re along the bourbon trail. The tour is worth the extra time… such neat history here!

This was part of a bourbon tour. It was a really good tour and tasting. They gave you enough to actually taste the bourbon, unlike some other distillery tours. It was also informative about the way to taste bourbon.

Stopped by at the last minute and barely made the tour. The tour was interesting/informative. Tony, our guide, was very knowledgeable and we appreciated his enthusiasm and passion for the distillery and its product. We had a member of our party with mobility problems and Tony made our tour possible, enjoyable and memorable.

We have been on a few tours and learned a bit more on this one. Our tour guide, Jamie was great! He was attentive, creative, informative and very helpful. Thank you for your additional recommendations they were great!

Appreciated the Bourbon laws broken down by the alphabet A-G. Makes it much easier to remember.

We also did the Mixology class and while I'm not a real Bourbon drinker, I loved the Bread Pudding Old Fashioned and the Double Oak Old Fashioned. If you get a chance definitely go to the Cocktail lounge and order one. We were excited because the bourbon drinker in our house has celiac disease do the Bread Pudding is an option he can drink and enjoy since we can't have the original bread pudding. How about a bourbon cinnamon roll recipe?

Shared that the spiced cherry bitters work well in a pepsi/coke to have a cherry coke. I did that on the way back on our trip and it was very good and I will definitely do that again.

Overall, this tour definitely ranked in our top 2 of the several we have done

One of the best combos of grounds and yours we took at all the places we visited. The grounds were fabulous and your was even better. The guide was knowledgeable and did a great job explaining everything. The tasting was also good. Gift shop had a few bottles of distillery select bottles to purchase. We really enjoyed our visit here and would come back again!
