Downtown Baton Rouge is a great place to hang out with its riverfront area, historic neighborhoods, Old State Capitol building and numerous restaurants and dance clubs.

visited and stayed downtown for a bowling tournament over Memorial day. Not everything was open, but if it were there is a lot to see. Lots of restaurants.

Must be great to live downtown, there is nothing goin on. Almost no people, almost no traffic. However, the river walk is very nice!

Close to the river, lots of things to see and enjoy. Great shops and plenty of choices for lunch. People were friendly.

There didn't appear to be much going on in downtown Baton Rouge, which surprised us given it is the State capital. We didn't see many people walking around and found few shops.

We didn't have much time to go to museums, etc. but walking around downtown was beautiful. So many things one could see within walking distance, the levee, museums, and other attractions.

A very nice downtown, starting with the river front park and walking area. Lots of unique and stately buildings, especially the capitol building. As well as lots of stores and bars too.

The downtown area was not crowded at all when we visited. The streets are almost deserted after dark, and even during the daylight hours, traffic is very light. Driving around town was easy during our visit.

Compared to most cities, Baton Rouge Downtown is pretty dull. The good news is that parking is really cheap, the bad news is that there isn't much to go and see after you park your car. Not many restaurants to visit, nor much interesting architecture.
