I was so disappointed. To find a place this close to the hotel with so much history. I was excited and was ready for some real New Orleans cuisine. Instead the BBQ shrimp was just worcestershire water and overcooked shrimp. My wife got the seafood gumbo. It was like no gumbo I have ever seen. Watery wife some shredded crab... More

Went in for 2nd night in a row and had less than positive experience. Gretchen waitress # 223. didn't even ask if we wanted bread until the Food came. The menu clearly states that for parties larger than 7 gratuity is included and the night before gratuity was included in the total on our bill. On the way out the... More

We found this location near the convention center as we walked to get our half marathon packets. Starving and unwilling to wait we stopped here to eat. Large place willing to take groups and lunch crowd. The service was fast and friendly. The menu is the ehhhh and everything is about $20 whether it was soup and salad, burger or... More

The absolute best of the best If you haven't eaten here you've not been to New Orleans... Huge plates filled with the best of the best decorated with lovely smiles from the waitress (Mica). OMG, i already look forward to next time...

Nice place for lunch during a convention. No lunch menu so my meal cost $22 which is a little pricey. Service was friendly and pretty quick. Easy to have a conversation not too noisy. Would be good for a bigger group ( we had 7). For a lunch however I'd recommend 2 chicks cafe if it's just a couple folks.... More

It's a shame for being in New Orleans, Mulate's is like being in a large gymnasium, loud , if you have a big party and you want to drink a lot of beers and eat fried fish this is your place, it certainly wasn't Cajun, at best I would say it's just cafeteria food for a high price

Drinks were really good and food was even better. Quality ingredients and great flavor!! Portions are large. We did a bunch of appetizers and cups of gumbo, beans and étouffée.

We were hungry for stuffed shrimp, gumbo and a good meal while in N.O. so walked to Mulate's Cajun Restaurant off of Julia Street, just a few minutes north of our hotel (Hampton Inn Convention Center). Quick for a party of 7 to get seated and served. Food was delicious, my husband and I shared stuffed shrimp plate and some... More

I had the shrimp salad, spicy and good. The gumbo is also a favorite. The live band plays from 7 to 10 pm or so. You can Zydeco to it. We didn't know how, but found a couple dancing. We just copied them. Nice air conditioning too.
