We purchased a 6 person airboat swamp tour and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Captain Beebop was an amazing guide. He was raised on the bayou and was seemingly an expert on alligators. We saw many of them, as well as other wildlife. I highly...More

I can highly recommend this tour. The staff were helpful with the booking. The bus that turned up at the hotel was very comfortable. The plantation tour guide was dressed in costume and was very knowledgable. I could have stayed at the plantation far longer...More

The first thing I want to say about going on the Swamp Tour is make sure you take sunscreen and use it! I forgot ours and we got really sunburned. It's about a 30 minute ride outside the city to reach the Swamp Tour place....More

Hotel made reservations for us to visit Oak Alley Plantation. The plantation is superb and a must see. However, if you are able to hire a car and drive there yourself, do so. Having been told the drive would take 45 minutes it actually took...More

We did the airboat which is one option and a lot of fun. Captain Ernie was very environmentally aware and it was partly a lesson in alligators and the water. We left feeling like we had fun on the boat ride but also walked away...More

This was a 2 hour tour of the city. Took us through the French Quarter, the Garden District, one of the graveyards, stopped for a short break to get a drink and/or beignets. Interesting tour, but spent too much time in the Katrina area. I...More

If we're on an all day tour to Oak Alley Plantation, and then a swamp tour, will there be anything provided to eat, or a restaurant we stop at?

They make a brief stop at a park that serves soft drinks and beignets. Not sure if they have anything else or not. Because of the crowd we did not get anything.

I am interested in both a swamp tour (small group) and visiting plantations. I'd need pickup in New Orleans on Oct. 19. Is there a way to spend one or two nights out of the city and be at the airport (New Orleans) by noon on the 21st ? I'd like extended time along the River Road, maybe even rent a car. Do you have any ideas about putting this together ? Do you organize this sort of itinerary ? Thanks, Carol
