Sunday River handled the crowds beautifully this week. After an incredible amount of snow in the days just prior to Mass and Maine's public school vacation we anticipated the worst in terms of lift lines. The weekend was heavy but with all lifts running other than the one quad closed for the season to rebuild it, the lines were very... More

Skiing at Sunday River is always an excellent time. The trails are well groomed and the mountain is huge and has trails to suit every ski level. The scenery of the surrounding mountains is spectacular. Lift lines were fast moving despite it being President's Day.

As a former ski instructor I've skied the majority of New England resorts and for large scale corporate resorts, it's hard to top Sunday river. I started skiing there in the early 90s when there were four developed peaks. Unlike other large resorts like Killington, Sunday River was laid out with future expansion in mind. You can move from one... More

We happened to be up for the week during the most snow ever to hit Sunday River last week, Feb 2017! We had the best time. The resort is wonderful. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a great family/beginners/intermediate ski area at South Ridge Lodge that you can base your skiing around. The kids did ski school for... More

We traveled up from Providence, RI for the weekend. Of course weather is variable, but we were really impressed with the grooming, and the snow was just perfect. I've skied at other large resorts -- primarily Killington, VT. By comparison, I'd say Sunday River caters a bit more to the mid-range skier. It's also a bit quieter and more family... More

We recently visited SR and waited over a half hour in line to get a ticket. Only one ticket window was open on a Saturday morning weekend holiday! Bad planning on their part. Our second choice of where to buy a ticket found us waiting as long.

Love Sunday River trails. We were here a week, this year the conditions were great despite rain one day, There was an issue with the lifts, one of the areas was hard to reach due to the collapse of one of the lifts. Another day, one of the other lifts was down part of a day and the whole next... More

I was finally here when Aurora, Oz and Jorden Bowl were open and they do have some fun glades, blacks and blues. When they are on wind hold the entire mountain has painfully long lift lines. I'm still not a huge SR fan because you spend half your day traversing to get to short runs, and not enough time skiing... More

We arrived to our cabin on a Thursday evening in January, lit the fireplace and talked about how we were going to traverse the mountain and hit all the good runs! Friday arrived and once again, Sunday River did not disappoint. There was only a short 4-5 min. wait to pickup our lift tickets, and then no lines whatsoever at... More

We have been skiing here for years. When the kids were little, Fall Line condos were the only way to go. Now that we are back to traveling as a couple, the Summit is the best. Ski in - Ski out is awesome. Breakfast included, the best. Everyone that works there is attentive and hard working. Got a deep tissue... More
