The $3.00 entrance fee allows you access to the lighthouse tower, the keeper's house (now a museum), and the surrounding grounds. Both the tower and the museum are staffed by volunteers who are a wealth of information and seem to enjoy sharing the history of...More

This is a bit of a drive from Boothbay Harbor (45 min?), but worth it! The view is gorgeous and it's fun to walk on the rocks and to tempt fate getting REALLY far down on the rocks! You can also climb up in the...More

A scenic lighthouse on the Maine coast. One of the few that you can go in and take pictures from the top. A wonderful opportunity for some scenic photos and plenty of tables outside for a picnic lunch.

Fantastic geology for this wonderful lighthouse. Crashing waves and brisk wind completed the experience. Thought surely we had missed it but persistence paid off

Well worth a trip out to see this lighthouse. The crashing waves on the rugged rocky coastline are a great experience. Clambering over the rocks was great, but you need to be sure-footed. The lighthouse and coastline are iconic Maine, and we spent a few...More

The lighthouse is lovely and does allow tours but to me the real attraction is not the lighthouse itself, but the grounds and the flowing rock that runs down into the sea, where the waves crash. I love to walk down on the rock formations...More

We loved visiting this lighthouse. Luckily we came on a day when there were few people so it didn't take a lot of time to wait to climb to the top. There was a beautiful view and it was cool to see a working lighthouse....More

Great stop in Maine. My kids loved climbing on the rocks and exploring the shore. They search for rocks and marine life.

This is one of the best lighthouses anywhere! My grandkids love to climb the rocks away from the edges (with supervision, of course). And, if the waves are crashing, it is a very dramatic place to be! The early nineteenth-century lighthouse, itself, is perched high...More

Since we were "tourists", I am not aware of a season. I believe the lighthouse to be open all year around. Of course, some winter storms may cause a temporary closure. Hours are "day light" hours.
