A friend told us of this trail so we decided to take short ride to Bristol, and walk this trail. We started off on the Lavern a trail and took a right on the Ellis trail. What we found were excellent views of the ocean, and the rocky coast line. Lots of places to sit to enjoy the scenery or... More

We had a hard time initially finding this place as gps was incorrect. We were glad we found it though. The trail was very well marked and the views were amazing. About a 2 and a half mile walk.

La Verna Preserve, on route 32 in Bristol is a lovely wooded area that leads to amazing views of the ocean on a rocky coastline. Dogs are allowed and the trails are gently sloping and suitable for most people with proper footwear. You can take a circuit trail; maps are available at the trailhead. This hike is a good activity... More

La Verna is an easy, gentle sloped hike. Wear good shoes as there are plenty of roots. Also poison ivy, but it is well marked by signs. The views of the ocean are simplu, AMAZING! There are various look out points for different views. Bring your camera!

I am an 'older' hiker, and found the trails well groomed and easy to walk on. Some hills, bridges and twists and turns added interest--but the reward was coming to the shore and the grand rocky coast! Wish the poison ivy weren't so prevalent or I'd have spent time lounging!

When I was first going to enter the trail I did a quick review of what I was going to find there. It seemed like it might be a little short, but once in there I found that there was a decent hiking distance available with several trails that intersect at a few points. So you are free to make... Very well maintained trails, with board walks over the wet parts. Beautiful views once you get to the water edge with very interesting rocks. We even saw an osprey on her nest right by a trail.

The hike through LaVerna Preserve is worth it. The views of the water at the end of the trail are fabulous. We carried a back pack with us this time and enjoyed a picnic lunch on the rocks. We were there alone during our entire picnic, and the experience was peaceful and serene. The hike to the beauty requires a... More
