I have been a half dozen times in 10 years, and every time I go I learn something new. Docents are very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. Difficult access to top floor for mobility impaired, but that's understandable.

Dan was our tour guide and he had a wealth of knowledge about the house, history, family. The tour and background stories were amazing.

If you are really into civil war history than this is for you, if not then reconsider going. An excellent piece of American and specifically Maine history.

Seasonal. After Columbus day they are only open Friday and Saturday 10 to 4 and Sunday 1 to 4. Close for the year on November 13th.
