Short, lovely drive to a hilltop overlooking the town and bay. Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote a poem about this view. She got it right.

The top of the hill has 2 nice lookout points of the Bay. It was worthwhile to get a birds' eye view & then walk around Camden & get closer to the water.

On a clear and sunny day you can see forever. Mountains, ocean, lakes, and wildlife. We chose to drive up but the walk is very doable. So worth it.

Camden Hills State Park just past the town. I never get tired of the view, its outstanding. Many levels of hiking trails, or drive your car to the top.

The view from the top of the mountain out across the ocean and the islands is fabulous - you can even see 2 of the mountains of Acadia in the distance. You can also see how the Camden Harbor is tucked in safely along the...More

Very nice, easily accessible state park with gorgeous views of Penobscot Bay, either hike the great trails or drive the auto road, both excellent options

I have never been there in the winter, but I am sure they allow winter hiking or X Country skiing, except this winter they have 3 feet or more of snow... could make it difficult.

We do not camp so we didn't pay close attention to that information other than they do appear to allow campers and I think they had electricity. Your best bet would be to contact the State Park directly for that long of a... More
