We were touring the coastal towns of Maine and were interested in seeing some of the lighthouses along the way. It happened to be pouring rain the day we visited Castine but we drove down to the tip of the peninsula to get a look...More

We've read The Fort by Bernard Cornwell several times so this was a must see. Quite steep--which we knew from the accounts--and amazing view at the base.

Any trip to Maine needs to include lighthouses. Beautiful location with easy access to the well maintained path. Lighthouse itself is privately owned but you can walk around.

A fine short stop if you're in the area. Quick access- easy in, easy out. Enjoyed the drive to get there just as much as the lighthouse.

We went before dinner in town. I nice short hike with a great view. It's a little strange to walk through a backyard but signs say it's ok.

This is a quickie walk, but the view once you get out to the rocks is quite spectacular. This is no more than a 5-10 minute walk, but grab a book to read out by the water. Or just go for a few peaceful minutes...More
