So beautiful, must do anytime of year! Looks like you're in The Rocky Mountains! It's easy to get to with some great scenic vistas along the way to get out and walk.

We took the scenic route in the White Mountains, driving up the winding, nail-biting road to the top of White Mountain. We enjoyed the informative CD provided by the rangers at the beginning of our climb up the mountain. Views spectacular. One could take a cog-rail to the top also, but we chose to drive on a clear, September day.

My family and I live on the outskirts of the white mountain national forest and absolutely love spending time in the countless spots that are open to all. Although we choose our activities and locations based on the seasons. This is because of the thousands of other visitors weekly that can cause some of the serenity to fade away when... More

I visit the White Mountain National Forest all the time. It is a great resource. Hike its trails! Swim in its streams, falls, pools, and ponds. Fish its streams and rivers. Drive the famous and not so famous roads. There are the most popular sites: Diana's Baths, the Mt. Washington Auto Road, floating the Saco River, skiing. There are lower... More

Rode our bicycles through this area and it was very pretty. Roads were a bit bumpy, but there were several nice roadside areas with pit toilets and signage for hiking trails and scenery.

This area offers a great number of sights, hikes and entertainment options. I personally loved the old covered bridges and the many different waterfalls.

I've been in and out of the White Mountain National Forest my whole life, and always find something new- Whether it's a new trail to hike, a waterfall, a view, nature to photograph - there is always something. It gets pretty crowded in the summer, but I'm still able to find hikes that are unspoilt. Usually the summer temps are... More

last time in, we were working with Snow. The parking areas were still mostly snowed in (plow-piles) but the roads were clear. This time, all melted ( well piles in the corners) walked around at the Gorge and the Slide. Rode up to the top *still snow there!!) Just pretty and peaceful - before the summer folks come in. (but... More
