This beach is in excellent condition, clean and has good security/lifeguards. There ate fireworks every Thursday evening!

I've been going here since I was a kid. One thing I have to say is the bathrooms are always disgusting, and the beach could use better monitoring of trash. Definitely get there in the morning or late afternoon to avoid heavy traffic.

We went on a Monday morning and it was not crowded. Still a good number of people walking around the town - several places to eat near the carnival and pier and many shops for t shirts and such. On our return from Acadia -...More

Our first impression of Old Orchard Beach was a Sunday night about 9:30. The strip leading to the beach and the beach itself was full of litter. Not too impressed with the pier, either. Lots of young adolescents shouting obscenities and being very lewd and...More

Nice clean beach, a bit crowded in July/August but much less so in June and September. Lined with mostly small two story motels, OOB has not fallen to the major over builds of other places such as Ocean City, Nags Head and Myrtle Beach so...More

I love the beach because it's long and wide, soft sand too. Great memories from childhood. Only 5 hrs away from Bromont, Quebec. Water is cold but i always end up in it!!

Great beach, with many families. We walked to the pier, and many were underneath taking advantage of the shade there for little ones to nap, etc. The walk to the beach was beautiful in that the edge of the beach is lined with large bushes...More

We stayed three blocks from the pier. We did not need to drive anywhere. Everything we needed or wanted to do was within walking distance. We will go again.

Old Orchard Beach was one of my favorite destinations anywhere - the 7-mile beach, great gift shops and restaurants, the Pier, the charming New England town, and of course the fried dough. I recently visited OOB. The overall experience was good but I felt that...More

OK.....I know it's common sense, it's Maine so the water is going to be colder than the Maryland/Delaware beaches we're accustomed to....but just HOW cold are we talking here? (last week of July).

Hi Matt, I'm from Delaware so I know the Delaware beaches. I love the Maine beaches! Debbie A is right about the water temps. It might be colder than here, but once you get in and get used to it, it's so refreshing! The... More

There are quite a few right on the beach and directly across the street (30 steps). It really depends on how much you want to spend and what you want. I booked the Copley LaReine Motel this year. It has fantastic views... More
