GREAT place! We drove from Lençóis. It's around 230 km + 28 km on dirt road. The walk to Buracão is fantastic not too though to reach. Enjoy your visit.

What a place! Absolutely amazing and breathtaking waterfall. The experience of swimming through the canyons to get to the waterfall is out of this world. We did a day trip from Lençóis which is a long drive ( 500km the whole trip) but totally worth it. Also the landscape during the is beautiful! If you don't like cold water is... More

It was really hard to get here from Lençóis, seen as you can't always trust Google Maps, especially if you set it to avoid motorways and tolls. Yes, seeing the country side is much prettier but when it takes you to a road that's not really a road, it's rocks, stick to tarmac. Might be best to set it to... More

I went there on a day trip with Chapada Adventure Daniel and it was the best day in the Chapada Diamantina. The fall is amazing in itself but the experience of swimming in the canyon and seeing it appear from behind the corner is magic!! The hike to get there is easy. The only downside is that it is a... I've travelled quite a bit, but visiting "Cachoeira do Buracao" was definitely one of the most amazing things I've ever done!!! I've seen some beautiful pictures of this place, but none of them can truly capture the beauty of the place!!!! When the guide we hired (Pablo Guerriero - AMAZING guide!!) included this tour in the itinerary he suggested for... More

The guides say to see this waterfall last - and the reason is once you experience Buracao you'll think all the other waterfalls aren't that great. Seeing this waterfall is truly an experience 1. it's hard to get to - lots of traveling on dirt roads and it requires a medium intensity 1 hour hike 2. once you are there,... More

This is the best waterfall experience that we have ever had. You are required to have a guide to enter the park. Our pousada in Ibicoara was able to arrange an English- speaking guide, Andre, for us. You first hike through various ecosystems until you reach a few smaller falls. You then jump in the water and swim through a... More

OMG! This was the BEST waterfall ever during our 8-day trip in the Chapada. No pictures can explain the feeling of having to finish the trekking in the water, swimming through the canyon. Absolutely amazing. I can't believe so many people go to Chapada and do not see this because "too far down from Lençois". Here is a suggestion: move... More

I went to many places in Chapada Diamantina in this trip. Some places I visited this time, even though I liked them, I don't intend to visit them again. Cachoeira do Buracao, however, is the place to come back many many times. It is wonderful and fun! I had never been in a place like that.

It is not located in Lençois and you need a tour guide to enter the park. However, it is the great experience I had when visiting the area.
