About
We are currently open for tastings and sell plenty of year-round and brewery-only beer to go. We also offer immersive, ticketed experiences delving into our wild and barrel aging program through The Cellars (available via our website link). We also have a food truck onsite featuring lobster rolls and other tasty treats for you to make a day of it. So if you're in the area, stop by and say hello! Founded in Portland, Maine, the brewery loves giving back to the community—and state—that has supported us since 1995. In 2019 the brewery became a Certified B Corp and Allagash founder Rob Tod won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Professional. Allagash currently stands as one of the 50 largest craft breweries in the U.S. (by sales volume) and has earned a spot on Maine’s Best Places to Work list for seven years running. Allagash is distributed in: CA, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL (Chicagoland only,) MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, VT, and WI.

My wife and I stopped at Allagash to have a beer and relax for a while. What a great place! Super friendly and relaxed atmosphere.. The employees seem to love their jobs, which made our visit more enjoyable, and we had a delicious lobster roll from the onsite food truck at the recommendation of the bartender. Definitely coming back the next time we're in the area.

Good afternoon! Thanks so much for the kind review. We're glad you stopped by, too! We agree! Our staff is super friendly and are also super knowledgeable. They truly love their jobs. And Bite into Maine's food is amazing! Their lobster rolls and other menu choices are so good! Thanks for your support of Allagash! Hurry back! Cheers!

Great beer. Bad service. One employee was giving me attitude and was being condescending on purpose. With Allagash’s price points this type of behavior from their employees is unacceptable. This employee then went a lied to her boss and he came out and made false accusations against me. Great beer, the male bartenders are great, and so is the food truck!

Nice layout with outdoor the beer garden areas. Great beer choices for everyone regardless of palate. Far too many Portland brewers are forcing IPA & hops-forward beer onto customers, Allagash gives you options. The White Ale is best we’ve had anywhere. On-site lobster truck is great.

Minus 1 star for no flights & for an unfriendly server we ended up dealing with twice. He didn’t tell us we could sample beers since no flights are offered. He also didn’t offer us a wooden chip when the beer my wife asked for was out. People next table over got one from the other beertender that helped them. Apparently that’s something they do here but we weren’t treated warmly so we found out by accident when folks next to us gave us their coin.

Would absolutely go back though! Hoping next time we get a normal friendly Maine person vs the guy that took our order twice during our visit.

Good afternoon! Thank you very much for visiting recently and for your feedback. We're so happy to hear you're a fan of our wide variety of beers we offer and that we share a love for our Allagash White and Bite Into Maine's tasty treats. Although we're never happy to hear negative comments, we take them serious. It also provides us with an opportunity to ensure a top-notch experience with each guest going forward. We're always happy to offer you sips of beers you're interested in trying. Please be sure to ask for sips the next time you visit as this is something we offer to those wanting to try a few beers, but don't want a full pour. We don't have a system in place whereby we offer chips to customers when we've sold out of a particular beer they wanted to try. How nice of the kind folks to share their complimentary beer chip with you. We hope your next visit to Allagash is a better experience. Cheers!

Nice brewery on brewery lane in Portland, ME. Wish it had indoor seating, but they did have covered heated areas outside. Nice that a food truck is in the lot for snacks.

Great brewery and we've always enjoyed their beer. It was our first visit and it would have been five stars if not for the bad experience with the food truck. We arrived on a Thursday around 2pm. We had no issues with finding it or with parking. The staff at the entry way where ID's are checked were very nice and asked if it was all our first visit. We then ordered beer under the tent and found a nice table to sit at. The beer was excellent and then it all went down hill. We left our tab opened, but each only had one beer and then left after trying the food truck, which was a mistake. The food truck, Bite into Maine, appears to be a staple at the brewey. We spent almost $50 (over $50 w/tip) on an order of lobster sliders, one pretzel and a side of coleslaw. My boyfriend has expensive veneers on his front teeth. His first bite was into a huge piece of cartilage that caused his teeth to hurt and totally turned him off from this place in general. I ate half of the pretzel, which was super generic and overly greasy and overly salted. The beer cheese came already coagulated. Then another piece of cartilage was found. Ugh. He told the food truck who offered to make a new order or give us dessert, but he declined both. The cook said that the place the lobster comes from is supposed to remove all of the cartilage so that shouldn't have happened. Maybe, just maybe they should notice those huge pieces of extremely hard cartilage on their own. My boyfriend is also now sick so we had to go back to the hotel. Double ugh. This is the only brewery in Portland that we had a very bad food experience at.

Good afternoon, Kim! Thank you very much for stopping by Allagash recently. We're happy to hear you enjoyed our beer and found our staff pleasant. They really are the best! We're sorry to hear you experience with Bite Into Maine was less than favorable. We've passed along your feedback to the owner, she'll appreciate knowing this as she prides herself in serving up some of the best lobster rolls, pretzels and other tasty food options around. We hope your next experience eating from Bite Into Maine's food truck is a better one. From Maine, With Love! Cheers, Kim!

This was our final stop before leaving Maine. I had their White ale (wit) many times, but had never seen anything else they make. Very cool beer garden in front with the brewery behind the garden. Short line for the beer and I chose the Maine blueberry sour. So purple, so good. Would have liked to have tried others, but the drive to the airport beckoned :(.

Great brewery and beer and was pleasantly surprised that there were several other breweries right next door. Just beware there isn't much parking and you may have to park further down the street and walk back, which wasn't to bad. Long lines for food from the food trailer on-site, so be prepared to wait for awhile if you want to eat and the menu is very limited.

Hello, and thanks for writing a review of our tasting room! As for our parking area, it is limited on our busiest days. There is ample parking on Industrial Way and it shouldn't require walking more than a minute or two to our entrance. We hope you enjoyed the beer and look forward to having you stop by again in the future!

We always enjoy our time here. Consistently good beer, and hard-working staff. I love to see them come by collecting glassware and checking on patrons.
My dog thinks she’s in heaven with all the other dogs to sniff!

Good afternoon! Thanks very much for stopping by and for your kind review, we appreciate it! We're happy to hear you had a chance to enjoy some beers and Bite Into Maine's lobster rolls in our beer garden. We love our space, too. And we love Bite Into Maine's lobster rolls! While we loved guiding our guests through the brewery for many years, we have no current plans to resume our public tour program. As we’ve expanded during the past few years to accommodate our growth, our brewery is as active as ever, which limits us from safely leading tours around our active production spaces. Sadly, the infrastructure no longer exists to resume our public tour program. We look forward to bringing new brewery experiences to the public in the future, please feel free to keep an eye on our website (allagash.com) for updates. Hurry back! Cheers!

Good local brew options available. There are tailgating games available and lots of nice outdoor seating for all sizes of groups. There is a food truck on sight and other breweries in the area too. Friendly staff working who were helpful with suggestions if needed.

Good afternoon! Thanks so much for your kind review and for visiting. We appreciate it! We're happy to hear you appreciated our super friendly, knowledgeable staff, too. They're truly the best! Isn't our expanded beer garden great?! We love all the extra seating and space it offers! Perfect for playing corn hole. Hurry back! We've already added new beers on tap for tastings. Thank you for your support of Allagash. Cheers!
