Shipyard Brewing Company is a family owned brewery - rooted in tradition and brimming with innovation. Our award-winning beer is handcrafted by our team of brewers who learned their art from world-renowned master brewer, Alan Pugsley. We are committed to cultivating a new generation of creative, passionate brewers. Our team is constantly exploring innovative and diverse styles of beer through our pilot system at our Portland brewery and our 7-barrel system at Federal Jack's Brew Pub in Kennebunk Harbor. History Established in 1994. In 1994, this family-run brewery set up shop in what was once a maritime foundry on the waterfront of Portland. Starting with our flagship Export Ale, we've produced over 65 handcrafted, traditional beers on in the heart of this vibrant Maine community.

This was one of our “bucket list” items on our short, 2-day trip to Portland. Our party of 6 with 2 kids found a table big enough for us right away. The kids had fun picking out their flight of soda. And the adults, well,...More

Enjoyed the flights and socializing during an unseasonable rain storm. Bad taste left in my mouth by the bartender who rejected a family with kids 20 min to 5pm who stepped in out of the pouring rain for a soda. Bartender was mean spirited in...More

My wife and I were visiting Portland and came across Shipyard and we went in. We were looking around the gift shop and then looking over the beer selection when an employee came up and offered us a tour. Fun time on the tour, which...More

A really nice brewery to sample the many beers they make. Pumpkin is my favorite but it's not in season. Nice gift shop and store. My wife loved the cream soda.

As a big fan of Shipyard, I stopped in on my visit to Portland. I did a sampling and found new beers I enjoyed. I also was able to purchase souvenirs and Christmas presents. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This was a great final stop on our visit to Portland. Don't miss it. Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I swear their beer tastes even better there than at home. We visited while we were waiting for a table at Eventide. It's an easy walk.

We brought our 2 year old with us on our visit - didn't try the tour, but had a nice time in the tasting room. They even have a soda tasting that might be fun for your daughter!
