Take the Casco Bay Lines ferry to all the different islands, or check time for the mail drop ferry. It stops at, I believe 7 different islands, unloading and picking up cargo, cars, etc. Check my pic, for the smallest working lighthouse. The ferry is...More

We took the 1015 run to Peak's Island, and had a very enjoyable few hours looking on the island after renting a golf cart to see the place. Clean ferry over, on time, no problems, and a relatively full boat. No issues at all, and...More

A great way to see the outer island in Casco Bay. We were on an 11am trip that included narration and a glimpse of a few communities where we dropped off visitors. Beautiful homes and shoreline on each of the islands. Watermen plying the bay,...More

The ferry leaves frequently and is not that expensive. It was a great way to see the islands and get fresh air. No elevator on the ship so unless you can manage stairs you get stuck on the bottom floor. It is interesting to see...More

You get a sense of life in the bay as you dock at four or five islands to deliver mail, cargo, and people and pick up cargo and people. The pilot points out interesting historic and other information. The island scenery is beautiful. It's easy...More

I could spend days discovering the islands. Wow! I never knew they existed! Such a wonderful find. Loving taking the ferries around the islands and to the islands. Soooo neat. Definitely recommend seeing them during your stop in Portland!

There are several hospitals in the area, all of them within 3 miles of the Casco Bay Lines. From I-295 take exit 7 - Franklyn St all the way to the end. There is a parking garage right next to the ferry.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and leashed. Expect a reasonable surcharge.
