I booked what was listed as the "Sunset Cruise" but was disappointed to discover that the trip was really just a commuter boat that happened to depart near the sunset hour. For the price of the ticket we were handed a map of points of interest but the captain never made any announcements about what we were passing when which... More

Delightful 3 hour cruise round the Casco Bay islands. A working boat delivering mail and supplies at each stop. Hading back to Portland got quite choppy with spray up front, but lower level was dry. Excellent commentary en route

I took the mailboat ferry and highly recommend it. There is no food served but you can bring your own. A couple ladies brought a picnic lunch with a bottle of wine. I was jealous! They do have vending machines for snacks and beverages. This was a beautiful ride and very interesting to see how locals receive their mail and... More

We decided to take the mailboat scenic tour of Casco Bay. The Captain gave a nice overview of the islands & history of Casco Bay. Beautiful scenery and a very relaxing way to enjoy the Bay!!!

Whether you're using the ferry to get to a destination island like Peaks, Great Diamond or Chebeague or you're doing the round trip for sightseeing, the ferry is a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend the day. Sure you can take a water taxi if you're pressed for time but who wants to rush on their vacation or day off?... More

The 3hour Mail Run boat trip to the islands in Casco Bay was everything good people have had to say. We weren't allowed to debark - so I can only surmise that it is at the captain's discretion depending upon how much unloading and loading is required at any given Island Stop. Be sure to take along a windbreaker or... More

We took the ferry to Peaks Island for a few hours of exploring. The ride was great and it was nice to just sit and relax and watch everything go by. The ferry runs on time and the crew is very efficient at getting everything and everyone on board. If ever back in Portland I would like to explore more... More

We took the mailboat to Chebeague, walked the island and returned on the next ferry. Tour across the bay was well narrated, pointing out each island, local points of interest and facts about the bay. Boat was full but in September we did not have to book ahead. Summer months you probably be advised to book.
