Easy to grab a ticket to go to another Island and you climb aboard with plenty of heated space. Beautiful view of the bay area. They run a tight schedule, so be there on the hour. You can also ferry your car too.

The mail boat is a delightful way to see some of the islands and wonderful scenery around Portland. It's cheap ($16) and runs all year. We went on a sunny day in autumn and although we felt cold we had a great time. We brought...More

Nice clean boat, but the acoustic/speakers were not loud enough when the boat was in full speed. Had some difficultly in hearing the excellent history of what we were seeing, it was informative and the guide and crew were friendly.

Previously we took the mailboat around the Casco Cay islands, but this time we just went to Peaks and got off for a few hours. It was marginal weather and the summer crowd had gone home, so it was interesting to see, meet and listen...More

On a picture-perfect fall day, the ferry is the way to go. Beautiful scenery of the islands as the boat putters along. It's the best way to get close-up views of sailing and lobster boats in the bay, and views of the more private parts...More

There are several hospitals in the area, all of them within 3 miles of the Casco Bay Lines. From I-295 take exit 7 - Franklyn St all the way to the end. There is a parking garage right next to the ferry.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and leashed. Expect a reasonable surcharge.
