It doesn't take long to visit; there's no fee (though donations are welcome); but it's fascinating nevertheless. Take 30 minutes to wander in off the main street and watch the Puffin movie and you'll be hooked! We subsequently took a boat ride to see puffins....More

Enjoyed the film which was very informative about how they are working to save the puffins on the Maine Coast. Thankful the effort is being made and doing well. Staff very knowledgable, small gift shop with proceeds going to Puffin Project. Worth a stop to...More

This is a very cute and informative visitor center. Small but cute gift shop. Great information on puffins and it's free.

Regardless of your interests or reason for being in Rockland- this is a must see because just an hour or so off the coast is a rocky island that hosts a miracle come-back from extinction of puffins in the USA due to the tireless work...More

The center is a wealth of info on the puffin life cycle and the story of their near extinction and slow but successful comeback. The clerk/docent was excellent in guiding us through the exhibits and answered every question. The gift shop was full of irresistible...More

OK...good for general information on Puffins. Lots of photos. Films available. Opportunity to make contributions. I was hoping to see some real puffins, but guess I need a boat ride for that.

We popped in for a quick look around on a rainy day walk down Main Street. The information was really educational and well done. Cute souvenirs are available that go towards their efforts. Well worth the pop in to check it out.

I love puffins and any tiny fuzzy sea animal. Project puffin had a baby puffin cam (squee), a sleepy, friendly dog, and offered many educational experiences. Definitely a must-stop in downtown Rockland.

The Visitor Center is an interesting overview of the ongoing puffin project. The movie they show is interesting and there are plenty of items to purchase to assist with the project. We signed up for the puffin tour which was kind of a bust. LOTS...More

The Project Puffins Center doesn't have live puffins. The puffins nest on offshore islands and can only be seen by boat. There are a number of puffin cruises - we did one from Boothbay Harbor, but there are cruises from... More
